Madhav Sarda son of Late Nandlall Sarda and grandson of the late Nathmull Sarda was born & brought up in Darjeeling. An alumni of St. Joseph’s School and College, he was the founder Secretary of Friends Organisation and also the Charter President of Leo Club of Darjeeling (into which the former was merged). He is also Managing Director of Golden Tips Tea Co.(P) Ltd., the group’s umbrella company, which he founded himself and very well known & active in the worldwide marketing of quality teas under the Nathmulls & Golden Tips names having some of the finest varieties of loose and single estate teas and over 150 varieties in handcrafted gift packaging. The company is registered with the Tea Board, authorized to use the Darjeeling tea logo, a regular participant at various international food and tea exhibitions worldwide, member of the Calcutta Tea Traders Association, Tea Auction Buyers Association of Calcutta, The Coonoor Tea Trade Association and Indian Merchant Tea Exporters’ Forum.
Born & brought up in the environs of the magnificent Kanchanjungha amidst the idyllic & scenic surroundings of hills and the tea plantations of Darjeeling, he has over the years developed a deep passion for God’s gift to mankind – Darjeeling hills & Darjeeling Tea.
From actively modernizing the Nathmulls showroom in Darjeeling to attending to thousands of visitors & connoisseurs from across the globe, from tasting to packaging, from retail to overseas exports, from tea plantations to International Trade Fairs, from postal mail order to online selling, Madhav Sarda has inherited and thereafter created for himself an all – encompassing and chequered life in the field of teas- particularly Darjeeling.
His drive & passion to make Darjeeling Teas available to connoisseurs worldwide - not only pure and fresh but also at reasonable prices and in value added packaging directly from the country of origin - continues unabated.
His latest innovation is the unique website www.nathmulls.in Here an array of single estate teas from scores of tea gardens are on display. A connoisseur simply needs to log in to see how uniquely the teas are offered and can be purchased online with new offerings almost every week. Also on offer would be estate teas from Assam, the Nilgiris, Kangra and other tea growing regions in India. |
